Dzongri Trek 8 Days
Referred to as the ‘Garden Kingdom of the Himalayas’, flora and fauna of Sikkim with over 600 varieties of Orchids, 30 species of Rhododendrons and Primulas, is considered one of the botanical minefields in the world. Seventy percent of the landscape is still untouched by the modern civilization. Forest life as such are still magically primeval and refreshingly intact, spared the chopper’s axe due to the eco-consciousness of the people advocated widely. This popular trek in Sikkim, is from Yuksom to Dzongri and onwards to Goecha La, and has superb views of Kanchenjunga. From Yuksam, the trail follows the Rathong Valley to Bakkhim and from here a steep ascent to the village of Tshoka. Above Tshoka the trail reaches Phedang. A further stage brings you to Dzongri (4020 M). From here the trail drops steeply down the river to Thangsing (3930 M).
Dzongri is situated at an altitude of about 4020 M, in west Sikkim. It offers the trekker a most fascinating close-up view of Kanchenjunga and Mt. Pandim. To the west rises the long outline of the Kyangla ridge. Dzongri is trekker’s paradise. Goecha La is situated at an altitude of about 4940 M. Goecha La offers a mind catching sight of the mountains like Pandim, Kanchenjunga and the others. The trek to Goecha la really is getting out & getting trekked. There are only few trekking routes around the Kanchenjunga National Park that are open to visitors. The trek is traditional which follows a picturesque route past lush vegetation and wonderful mountain views until it reaches a high pass.

| Day 01 : | Gangtok to Yuksom.After breakfast transfer to yuksom via Singtam,Temi tea Estate,Ravangla Tashiding. Lunch stop at Ravangla.Overnight at hotel at Yuksom. |
| Day 02 : | Yuksom to Tshoka. (10000 ft) Yuksom to Tshoka 6 hrs walk on the way crossing waterfales like Churchery,Mintogang and stream like Phakhola & Chursey.Break at Sachen for lunch. |
| Day 03 : | Tshoka the last tiny village of Bhutias at an altitude of (10000 ft) rest on that day. |
| Day 04 : | Tshoka to Dzongri (13290 ft ) 4 hrs walk quite steeply upwards crossing Deorali a view point and move to Dzongri. |
| Day 05 : | Dzongri (13290 ft ) Early morning walk approx.half an hour up to the Dzongri pass from were views of the mountain ranges look ominously close.Like Panoramic views of mt.Kabru,Koktang,Rathong,Pandim,Talung & Khangchendzonga peaks standing aloft in all its celestial beauty. |
| Day 06 : | Dzongri to Tshoka After breakfast trek down to Tshoka. |
| Day 07 : | Tshoka to Yuksom.Trek the same way back to Yuksom via Bakhim,Prekchu and Sachen with lunch stop in between.Upon arrival check into hotel. |
