Everest Region
The Khumbu, known commonly as the Everest region, is also the home of the Sherpa people and mysterious Yeti. It is located in the northeast of Nepal.
The best known of all Himalayan tribal people, the Sherpas live mainly in this Solu Khumbu region at the foot of Mt. Everest and they establish themselves as the world famous high altitude climbers.
The trek itself takes you amongst many Sherpa villages and fabulous mountain scenery. Walking through famous Sherpa village of Namche Bazar and Tengboche monastery will bring you a spectacular view of mesmerizing peak of Ama Dablam and Everest. Diverse range of wildlife, ethnic groups and vegetation are seen in this region. The best time to visit is spring and autumn.
